Holding up when pressure keeps going

Pressure that comes and goes is manageable. Pressure that does not stop is a different problem. This is the fourth part of employee capacity.

What shapes it: the other three parts. People with something left at the start of the day, time to recover and room to concentrate hold up longer. Support from people at work matters too.

What it is not: a personal quality to be trained into people. Telling a team to cope better does not change what is asking so much of them.

What a team can change: the length of the hard stretch, how clear the priorities are, and whether people know who to ask for help.
